Michael “Shark” Martin is running for the position of Representative at Large for CU Student Government. Michael was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, but now proudly calls Boulder his new home. He spends his free time reading for pleasure, lifting weights at the Rec, and practicing yoga. As a second-year student majoring in Advertising and minoring in Business, he plans to put his learned knowledge and education to use by giving back to the CU Boulder community.

Michael’s interest in student government and leadership began his freshman year of high school after his election as class representative and followed him to his senior year as an elected executive. His passion for leadership and responsibility continued as he began college. Michael is a second-year member in his fraternity and currently holds the position of Banquet Chairmen. Through these leadership roles, Michael has been able to learn from those who came before him and teach those who follow in his footsteps. Although an active member of the Greek community at CU, Michael plans to represent the CU Boulder community entirely. As a candidate running with the Elevate ticket, Michael and his running mates plan to address the issue and conversation of sexual assault in the CU community as well as improve means of safety and transportation on and off campus. The Elevate ticket is also striving to improve social relations between the CU community and Greek community by working together as one cohesive unit. Michael believes the Elevate ticket is striving to make a difference for everyone in the CU community. Vote Elevate!!!
