Michael Martin is a sophomore running to be a Tri-Executive for CU Student Government. He is majoring in Strategic Communications/Advertising and is minoring in Technology, Arts, and Media. He was born in Springfield, Illinois and believes that the Midwestern morals and lessons he learned at home should be shared with his CU community. Michael is currently serving as a Representative At-Large for CU Student Government. This position has acted as a priceless experience that has granted him the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as one of CU’s student body presidents. He is also an active member of CU’s Colorado Ocean Coalition Chapter.

When Michael is not participating in his extracurricular activities, he can be found doing his favorite hobbies. His hobbies include: Practicing yoga, reading non-fiction, exercising at the Rec, and being critical of television advertisements. He is also heavily involved in assorted philanthropy events put on by his fraternity. His favorite philanthropy event to participate in is MS Basketbrawl, a basketball tournament that donates all of its proceeds to Multiple Sclerosis research. This summer, Michael plans on interning at NBC Universal in Birmingham, MI.

Michael is running with the Progress ticket. The ticket’s platforms, accountability and accessibility, are two aspects that he believes must be addressed and improved to enhance the overall student experience at CU.  His running mates possess the qualities of determination, passion, and grit which he believes are necessary to properly represent the student body and the Progress ticket entirely. The Progress ticket’s goal is to better the overall student experience at CU and have a positive impact on each and every student. Vote Progress!
